DESCRIPTION

Creating Change Through Protest in the 1960s-2010 Examine how change occurred in the 1960s by studying various expressions of protest 
during the decade.  As a member of an AP teacher team, you are creating a lesson and an assessment (DBQ) for a unit entitled: 1960s: Change through Protest.

1920's- Social Aspect Unit Lesson Your task is to examine the statement below regarding social life in the 20s and to create a project/product that reflects and explains the collision of new ideas with the mores and the ways of the past. 

Slavery In America

Select and complete one activity from each horizontal row to help you and others learn/think about slavery in America during the Antebellum Period 1800 - 1860.  You will have class time to work, but will also need to utilize time outside of class to complete the mini-activities.

Advanced Placement U.S. History

1 credits; One year 

Prerequisite:  Junior Standing - LEAP

This LEAP course provides students with an in-depth US History course covering American history from the Exploration period to 1990.  In May students may choose to take the College Board AP Test.  If teh student scores (1-5) a 3, 4, or 5, may receive between 3-6 college credits (this varies from university to university).  Students taking AP courses experience a challenging course that prepares tehm for teh rigors of college.  Beginning this year 10th graders will be allowed to take AP US History as a sophomore.  The top 25 sophomore will selected from Leap pool.
